Q.839 Unable to upload photo & signature for OCI application . . .

Question: Good afternoon, I can't seem to find help on this subject anywhere. I understand that ALL PIO cards will be converted to OCI at the end of March. My husband, daughter and I have PIO cards. I have completed the forms but am unable to upload the photos and signatures. We have tried to compress it while keeping the pixels but nothing seems to works. I am now desperate :( Have called the Embassy but they insist it should work. Well, it doesn't. Would very much appreciate your help. Sincerely, Sheela Sharma [January 18, 2016] Answer: Under the current guidelines: Applicants Image & signature image should be in JPEG or JPG format only. If your photo is a GIF or PNG then it won’t be accepted Maximum size allowed is 30kb The height and width of the Signature Photo must have aspect ratio 1:3 o The minimum dimensions are 360 pixels (width) x 120 pixels (height) o The maximum dimensions are 900 pixels (width) x 300 pixels (height) Perhaps you should try and resize the image. One way to do this is to use Microsoft Paint which is a free program included with all windows operating systems. Open MS Paint Load your image Select ‘Resize’ option and then here select the Pixels option. See image provided. Enter the pixel size and click OK Save image with a new name. Check the image size to ensure it is not more that 30kb. Hope this works for you.
