Tourists who intend to drive in USA should obtain a International driving license from their home country before traveling to the Untied States. Those who are non residents of USA, can drive with international driving license as long as they also carry a valid driving license from their home country from where they obtained the international driving permit. Residents of the United States, who are legal residents can apply for and get a US driving license in the State where they live from the state’s department of motor vehicles. Regardless of which US State a resident obtains their license from, their license would be valid all over USA.
