Q443. Can I Drive in India with foreign driving license
Question: Dear sir, I want to confirm whether an NRI need to compulsorily possess a driving license issued by Indian state government authority to drive on the Indian roads or he can do this just by possessing a driving license issued by his base home country (outside india)? Thank you. Regards
Answer: NRIs while in India who not have a valid Indian driving license, cannot drive simply on the basis of their foreign driving license issued in their home country. They must also have an International Driving Permit (IDP). They need BOTH these documents. 1. A valid foreign driving license and 2.
