Question: Dear Sir I have obtain OCI U visa on us passport after age 55 years. Now my passport is expired and have new US passport. I have following two questions:
- Is OCI U-visa required to transfer to new US passport if OCI U-VISA is obtained after age 55?
- Can I travel to India with new passport, Old passport with U-Visa and OCI registration card with no problem? I would appreciate for your answers Thanks You Best regards Kanji Vagadia
Answer: Regarding your questions: 1. Fresh OCI documents need to be obtained once after reaching age 50. Those who have obtained their OCI visa after reaching age 50 do not have to get fresh documents. Whether you wish to transfer your OCI visa to your new passport is entirely up to you, there is no compulsion to do so. 2. Yes! you can travel to India with your new passport as long as you also take with you your old passport that has the original OCI U Visa stamp and the OCI registration booklet.
