How much currency in Canadian dollars a person ( WHO IS CANADIAN CITIZEN ) can carry along with while traveling to India as of latest

FEMA Rules ?

Answer: There is no restriction on the amount of foreign currency that can be brought into India from abroad. However, in the following conditions, the currency must be declared on arrival by filling in a Currency Declaration Form (CDF) on arrival. These conditions are: • If the arriving passenger has more than US$ 5000 or its equivalent in Cash • If the total amount of foreign currency Cash + Travelers Cheques or bank draft etc exceeds US$10,000 or its equivalent Most people are probably aware of the US$ 10,000 limit, as this is generally enforced worldwide. However, many perhaps may not know about the $5000 cash limit. There is no limit on how much money your friend can take to India. As long as he/she declares the money if it exceeds the limits set by the authorities. Passengers carrying amounts that require currency declaration, must declare them voluntarily before being caught with currency that exceeds the allowed limit.
