Q582. Renewal of OCI on reaching age 50

Q704. Reissue OCI when changing passport after 50 Question: Dear Sir, I obtained my OCI card when I was 48 years old (in 2007). I am still using the same passport. Do I need to get the OCI re-issued only when I change my passport or I must get the OCI re-issued (after 50 yrs of age) even if my passport has not changed ? This new rule did not exist when I crossed 50 (in 2009) ? Do I still need to get OCI re-issued ? Thanks, Arun

Answer: As per current rules: • Every time a OCI holder’s passport expires up to the age of 20 years, they must renew their OCI documentation. Then again after reaching age 50 on a fresh passport.
