Q644. How to get Non-Availability of Birth Certificate document in India

Question: To get Green Card if one do not have Birth Certificate, he is required to produce Non availability of Birth certificate(mandatory) along with secondary document such as school leaving certificate. What should be the format of sample letter of request to the concerned authority? Please explain the procedure how to obtain Non availability certificate from Mumbai Municipal Corporation? Kindly Help and guide us in the subject.

Answer: Applications for birth certificate are made to the concerned municipal ward office. If records are not found then a non-availability of birth record letter is issued to the applicant. There is no specific type of sample letter request that I am aware of. You would have to provide details of your birth such as date, place etc. for a search to be conducted.
