Q911. Need Aadhaar card to Sell Property in India but do not have any proof of address
Question: Hi I am a British citizen with OCI and residing in UK. I need an Aadhar card as we are planning to sell family property. I have not stayed in India for 182 days in the preceding time period. I also do not have proof of address in India. We cannot sell the property without an aadhar card. How can I get an aadhar card without proof of Indian address or residency of 182 days? Thanks Regards, Anon
Answer: OCI booklet/passport should suffice as proof of identity. For proof of address I have posted the various documents that can be used on this website, you can see the list by visiting the link: One of the acceptable documents is ‘Property Tax Receipt (not older than 3 months) Since you are planning to sell your property I would assume you own it and hence should have property tax receipts. Use the house address when filling form for Aadhaar
