Q964. OCI stamp on new passport when original passport with OCI stamp expires
Question: Dear Sir/Madam, I have a OCI U visa stamped on my expired passport. Now that I have a new passport what are the requirements to transfer OCI Visa to new passport? In addition is it true that as from 29th January 2015 there is no requirement to transfer OCI Visa to New passport if the OCI booklet is there as a proff? Thank you, Regards,
Answer: Yes! there is no mandatory requirement to transfer OCI
to new passport. Your OCI card [booklet] is proof of your OCI
status.
