Q1067. Citizenship change of OCI holder – Previously held New Zealand passport now hold
Question: Hi My OCI status is endorsed in my expired New Zealand Passport. I carry an Australian passport now. Should I endorse the OCI in to my current Australian Passport. Thanks
Answer: Since there is a change in your passport particulars and your passport country has changed, you should notify the authorities that you no longer carry a New Zealand passport and now have an Australian passport. Changes to an OCI holder’s record are generally done using the OCI miscellaneous services a procedure that is initiated online. The practice of pasting OCI U visa has been discontinued, now a new OCI booklet would be issued by the authorities and this is sufficient proof of OCI for travel to India
