Q1134. Husband has OCI can spouse of Bangladesh Origin get PIO Card?

Question: I am a Canadian citizen holding Indian OCI.....can my spouse also a Canadian citizen BUT of Bangladesh origin Get a PIO ... Thanks

Previous PIO card holders were given the option to switch to an OCI card. However, as per current guidelines, individuals who are or have been a citizen of Pakistan, Bangladesh or such other country as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify, shall NOT be eligible for registration as Overseas Citizen of India card holder
