Q1219. Drive in India with UK license
Question: Dear Sir, I am having permanent UK car driving license and same is valid till 2014. I am Indian. Can I drive car with this in India ?
Please suggest.

Answer: You cannot drive with only your UK license in India, you also need to get a IDP. Both these documents are required to drive in India. You can apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) at the Post Offices in UK or apply on-line. It costs just £5.50
