Q1223. Validity of PAN

Question: Dear Sir, I am thinking of becoming Singapore citizen & then applying for OCI card. Would my current PAN card be still valid after surrendering my Indian passport and getting OCI card?

Answer: Whether a person is a Indian resident or a non-resident with foreign citizenship, there is no difference in the type of PAN cards issued. PAN is valid for life.
