217. Proof of Indian address for foreign nationals residing in India

Q: I reside in USA and parents live in Delhi. Do I need for any reason an Indian address ( power of attorney, real estate investment etc)? If yes, I don't have any document which has that. - My US passport has no address - My OCI card has US address - My PAN card has no address - NRI/NRO accounts have US addresses How do I show an Indian address if needed? Thanks! A. You don't need to have an Indian address to give a power of attorney or invest in real estate in India. The only time that I think a foreign national may need proof of local Indian address would be if they apply for a Indian driving license. In such a scenario, the local address where the person is staying in India would have to be provided by way of a statement from the landlord verifying that the person is residing there along with proof that they are legally in the country.
