270. Fiji passport holder - Acquire Indian Citizenship

Q: sir , i am holding a fiji passport but now i want a indian passport so what is the procedure ? i am staying in india from last 12 years and having election card licence pan card . even the visa on which i have come has expired so now what is the solution? with regards maitrey shukla A. I can't answer your question! I wonder how you were able to get a election card in India? considering that you hold a Fiji Passport and are not a citizen of India. Had you been living in India legally for 12 years, you may have been able to acquire Indian Citizenship. If you chose to simply stay in India after your visa expired, without renewing your visa then your status in India would be considered as illegal. You should take steps to correct your status in India before you can think of applying for India citizenship.
