Yes, you can gift a car to someone in India provided you purchase the car from within India. Maruti has a program where non-residents can gift a car in India. The entire process of selecting the car model and paying for the purchase can be done online. There are no additional charges added on for this, you just pay the price of the car. The car is delivered to the designated person at their residence in India. Check their website for a program called 'Dil Se' for more information on gifting a car in India. You can go their website by clicking HERE. While Maruti has this plan, I'm sure you could select any other car make and probably get the same service.
