509. How long can PIO stay in India

Questions: For How many days a German citizen can stay in India if he has PIO card?? Please reply us soon.. Answer: PIO card holders, regardless of the foreign passport they hold are allowed to stay in India for as long as they wish. The only condition here is that if stay exceeds 180 days, then they are required to register at the Foreigners Registration Office (FRRO). PIO card holders staying less than 180 days need not register. As per regulations*: ‘ Will be exempt from the requirements of registration if his/her stay on any single visit in India does not exceed 180 days. In the event of continuous stay in India exceeding 180 days, he/she shall have to get himself/herself registered within 30 days of the expiry of 180 days with the concerned FRRO/FRO. (*mha.nic.in)
