Question: Hello I was born in India; went to the Engineering University in Tamil Nadu. Emigrated to Pakistan. My spouse is a Pakistani national. I am now a USA citizen and my Pakistani passport is still valid. Is there anyway I can legally claim my Indian citizenship back ? Basically there are three options for living in India: 1. Indian citizenship 2. OCI 3. PIO Card Unfortunately, citizens of certain specified countries are not eligible for some or all the three options mentioned above and Pakistan is one of the countries whose citizens or former citizens cannot get Indian citizenship, OCI or PIO cards.
