Please refer to question/answer # 623 for more information on this topic.Generally the procedure to revoke a Power of Attorney in India is:•Get document prepared to revoke the previously issued POA•Get stamp of your local Indian consulate/embassy if abroad. Consulate will charge a small service fee for this purpose.•Get revocation document registered in India, preferably at the same Sub-Registrar office where the original POA was registered.•Send a notification to the person who was given the POA that is now being revoked, preferably by registered post.•Publish a public notice in a newspaper which has reasonable circulation in the city where the original POA was issued. NRIs may opt to also to place a notice in a newspaper where they reside.A lawyer should be able to handle all this for a nominal fee.
