Duty Free Limits on Gold Jewelry: Duty free allowance on gold jewellery brought into India is applicable only to those Indian passengers who have been residing abroad for at least one year. The duty free limit for gold jewelry brought into India is: • For female passengers, 40 grams, subject to the maximum value of Rupees 100,000 • For male passengers, 20 grams, subject to the maximum value of Rupees 50,000 Maximum gold allowed in India by paying customs duty for passengers arriving in India. Up to one kilogram of gold can be brought in to India from abroad by passengers arriving in India provided they have stayed abroad for a continuous period of six months.
