Q.994 Bank wants Aadhaar Card from Canadian Citizen for Indian Pension

Question: As I am unable to see any response on my below mentioned question on your website, I am repeating my question to get some guidance. We are Indian Origin leaving in CANADA since 2005 and having Canadian Citizen ship. We both are getting pension from the SBI. We have converted out Pension Accounts in to NRO account as we are non-resident. Now our bask is asking to provide Adhaar Card information saying it is mandatory to keep our account alive. Lastly when we are in India, in November 2016, at that point time they have not asked for any requirements. Now it is not possible for us to be in India at least for another two to three years. According to our understanding at present the adhaar card is only for those who are Indian resident residing in India. Is government is going to make any exceptions for the retirees living in abroad? Can you pelase provide some information to whom I should contact for this issue? Regards Manoj Dave Answer: Similar questions have already been answered on this website.
