Answer: You can apply for OCI while you are in India by filling the online application which you can access by visiting
https://passport.gov.in/oci/
Applicants of OCI who are residing in India after online submission must print out the completed online application form
and submit the form and required documentation, photograph & demand draft for fee to the Foreigners Regional
Registration Offices (FRRO) that serves their jurisdiction based on where they reside. A list of FRRO offices is provided on
this website at: http://nriinformation.com/nri_guide/frro_offices.htm
The fee for OCI application is currently Rs. 15,000/-
Keep in mind that applicants applying for OCI while in India must be present in India legally. That means you must be
having a valid visa to be in India. Anyone who has overstayed his/her visa may not be able to apply for OCI until their
status in India is not legalized.
