Q.1136 Name change for OCI holder in India
Question: Hi,
We have a son who was born in Canada. He is an OCI. We moved
back to India when he was 1 year old and living with us in the state
of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. Their is a mistake in his name in Canadian
birth certificate.we want to change his name in accordance with the
Indian IDs. When we asked the Canadian high commission in
Canada, they asked us to change his name in India and then send
the documents with the form 53, which they have sent to us.
So what is the procedure for name change in India. Please guide us.
