Q.1225 Can Foreign Registered Nurse Work in India . . .
Question: Dear Team,
I’m looking out for an info and was unable to trace on your site. Request you to please help.
Could you please let me know if we can hire overseas registered nurse to practice in Mumbai School.
Thanks,
Answer: Not sure if your query is whether a foreign registered nurse can work at a school in India or whether a nurse
having OCI status work in India.
Foreign Registered Nurse would need appropriate work permits & visa to work in India whereas an OCI holder would be
able to work in India due to their OCI status.
The school you mention must have their own set of rules stating whether they can hire a foreign trained nurse or if they
require the nurse with Indian qualifications.
I doubt if there are many foreign registered nurses who would be seeking employment as a nurse in India. Normally it’s
the other way around where qualified nurses in India are seeking nursing jobs abroad. There is always a big demand for
nursing jobs overseas.
