Q254. Getting a new gas connection in India

Question: Sir, I belong to Kerala with NRI status. Pl advise me as an NRI, how to get a new gas connection and a ration card. I have house in my home town in Kerala in my name (registration in my name and the taxes are paid in my name). When I approached the local gas agency, they told me that without ration card, I cannot get a new gas connection being NRI. Again for ration card, they told me that being NRI, I cannot apply for a new ration card. My name is included in my father's ration card who are staying separately near my own built house.
