Answer: Thank you for your email. Feedback from readers is always welcome and I appreciate the time you have taken to offer your suggestion to update the website. However, the information posted of the page that you refer to is correct and does not need any correction! Kindly revisit the page and read it carefully. The page you refer to in your email is in response to a question whether application for Aadhaar can be made at Indian Consulates in the United States. And the answer specifically states that this is not possible as there are no such provisions. Regardless of who applies for Aadhaar, they have to be resident in India and apply in India. The link you sent stating ‘Aadhar card fo NRIs as well’ is not new information. This has been the law since Aadhaar was announced and in response to many questions I have clearly stated that anyone can apply for Aadhaar regardless of their citizenship provided they reside in India and can show documentary proof of their Indian address. Kindly refer to an article on Nri Information titled ‘Aadhaar Card - For Nri, OCI and Foreigners’ this article was posted several years back and clearly states the rules as to who can apply for Aadhaar Card.
