162. OCI for dual nationality holder
Q. I am an OCI holder with Portuguese Nationality/Passport. I am living in London-UK from last 8 years. Obliviously Now I can
apply for British Nationality/Passport. (I haven’t apply for it – but thinking to apply)
In future I would like to settle permanently in India back home. I would like to ask some questions like…
1. Do I keep two Nationalities Portuguese and British with OCI?
2. If not then Which Nationality do I have to prefer?
3.If you have any valuable information please share with me.
It would be very much appreciated if you could advise me.
Thanking you

A. OCI ‘U’ visa is stamped on your foreign passport. I am not aware of any requirement where you would not be allowed to keep
both nationalities if you apply for OCI. However OCI is issued on only on one passport, Whether British or Portuguese passport
would be your choice.
