220. Getting license in India

Q: hello i have few questions regarding getting or keeping licences in india if a person is citizen of CANADA/UK and come to india can he/she get following licences: 1. Driving licence 2. Arm licence 4. Buy agriculture land 5. Properties OR if a person is Indian citizen and permanent resident in CANADA/UK then he can get these licences or properties or not. OR after getting permanent residency or citizenship in Canada/uk Do he/she need to surrender it or not THANKS A. Regards to your questions: 1. Getting a driver license is no problem if you are going to reside long term in India. Tourists on short term visits can use International driving license and actually don't need a Indian driving license. 2. Arms license is not easily available but is possible and would depend if you had moved back to India for resettlement and your reasons for wanting the arms license. 3. Buying agricultural land is not allowed unless you can get permission from RBI. 4. You can buy property and there is no requirement to surrender property you already own after getting permanent residency or citizenship of a foreign country.
