Q: I have to settle an existing PF account in India for which they are asking for a PAN card. I am a citizen of the United States of America and live in NJ. Do I need to be a citizen of India to apply for a PAN card? Thanks, Pallavi A. There is no requirement that you must be a Indian citizen to apply for a PAN card. You can apply for a PAN. If you prefer you can even apply online from the United States.
