Q.931 Proof of stay in India when applying for Indian citizenship

What proof will be required to show that I have been staying in India for the required time period while applying for
citizenship.

Answer: Details of address in India for last nine years is generally asked for on the citizenship application form.
Along with copy of valid residential permit/Long term visa.
As far as proof of time period spend in India by a foreigner can these days be easily verified by a person’s passport
as every entry and exit from India is stamped at point of arrival/departure in India.
