Q.1114 Transfer of Residency to India from China . . .

Question: Dear Sirs, I am in china right now and am going back in January after living here for 1 yr and 6 months. Can I take my transfer of residence after one year. Please provide me more information. Thanking you Warm regards Answer: The period of stay in China you mention, one year and six months may not be enough to allow you to avail Indian customs duty benefits under the transfer of residence facility. A minimum stay of two years abroad, immediately preceding the date of arrival on transfer of residency is required.
