Answer: In India, services such as Visa Extension; Exit Visa; Registration of foreigners in India etc. are provided by
the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in India.
Procedure to use online FRRO services known as e-FRRO
1.
To use online FRRO services first step is to register. This requires a valid email address and an Indian mobile
phone number where you can receive a onetime password (OPT) and get updates and alerts during the
processing of your application for services.
2.
Once you have registered, you can login to the e-FRRO website, select the service required and follow the on
screen instructions to submit your application.
3.
Applicants for services such visa extension and exit visa will need a valid passport. In case of a newborn child in
India, the parents should apply for a passport from their home country embassy/consulate before approaching
the FRRO for exit visa or new visa.
