Change in appearance If your appearance has changed considerably since your last passport was issued, you can, if you prefer, apply for a fresh passport with a more recent photograph. A photocopy of present spouse’s passport is also required to be submitted. Change of name In cases where people wish to change their name, they are required to place advertisements to that effect in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your residence and also in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your permanent address. Proof of having placed such advertisements is required to process name change applications. Acceptable proof is the submission of the actual newspaper page where your advertisement is placed and a sworn affidavit in the prescribed format.
