Along with passport application, enclose your current or recently expired passport. 4. The fee of £ 27.00, if you want an regular (36 page) passport or £ 34.00 if you wish to get 60 page passport. Expired Passport for more than one year In the event your Indian passport expired more than one year ago, in addition to the documentation required to get a new passport, you will also need to submit an affidavit in the prescribed format stating that you have not acquired British Nationality and a letter from the British Home office confirming the same. The signatures should match with that on their passports. Self-attested photocopies of both the parents’ passports are also required to be submitted along with the child application form. The fee for a child’s regular passport is currently £ 17.00. Passports for Children born in the UK For a child born in UK to be get an Indian passport, the birth must have been registered with the Consular Section of the High Commission within one year of birth. A copy of the receipt showing registration has been done will be required in case you have already registered. The fee to register the birth of a child in UK with the Indian Consulate is currently £15. In case more than one year has elapsed since the birth of your child, you also need to submit a Home Office letter and an affidavit stating that your child has not acquired British Nationality. Children's name cannot be entered on their parents’ passport. A new passport form will be required to be filled up for a new passport. For child passport with single parent, an affidavit sworn before a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public with proper seal duly attested and signed. Change in appearance If your appearance has changed considerably since your last passport was issued, you can, if you prefer, apply for a fresh passport with a more recent photograph. A photocopy of present spouse’s passport is also required to be submitted. Change of name In cases where people wish to change their name, they are required to place advertisements to that effect in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your residence and also in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your permanent address. Proof of having placed such advertisements is required to process name change applications. Acceptable proof is the submission of the actual newspaper page where your advertisement is placed and a sworn affidavit in the prescribed format. Affidavit can be sworn in front of Indian Consulate officer if you prefer. A fee of £ 8.00 is currently charged for this service. You would of course have to provide the consular officer documentary proof of what you are swearing. Passport Application Step by Step Guide

Expired Passport for more than one year

In the event your Indian passport expired more than one year ago, in addition to the documentation required to get a new passport, you will also need to submit an affidavit in the prescribed format stating that you have not acquired British Nationality and a letter from the British Home office confirming the same. Re-issue of Passports for Children under 15

years

The original passports of both the parents are required to be shown at the time of submission of application for issue of passport for a child. The signatures should match with that on their passports. Self-attested photocopies of both the parents’ passports are also required to be submitted along with the child application form. The fee for a child’s regular passport is currently £ 17.00.

Passports for Children born in the UK

For a child born in UK to be get an Indian passport, the birth must have been registered with the Consular Section of the High Commission within one year of birth. Change of name subsequent to

marriage/Divorce

For change of name on your passport, select the Change of Name/Surname category. Duly filled form with required documents, photographs and fee are required as discussed in the ‘New Passport Application’ procedure discussed above. Additionally you are also required to: Submit your original marriage certificate along with a photocopy. Self-attested photocopies of passports of applicant and his/her spouse.

Divorcees

Divorcees, applying for a change of name are required to furnish a divorce certificate authenticated by the court.

Remarriage

Those who require a name change due to remarriage and are applying for change of name/change of spouse name, are required to produce divorce decree/death certificate in respect of first spouse, marriage certificate from the Registrar of Marriages. A photocopy of present spouse’s passport is also required to be submitted.

Change of name

In cases where people wish to change their name, they are required to place advertisements to that effect in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your residence and also in a prominent daily newspaper of the area of your permanent address.
