My father was passed away in1997 but we didn't register the death, now I need that certificate to apply passport for my mother Please provide me the information & procedure to get the death certificate from Singapore or in India. While it is compulsory by Indian law to register death of a person within 21 days of its occurrence, there are provisions for late registration by paying the prescribed fee and seeking permission of the Registrar in the area where the death occurred.
