171. Apply for OCI in India
Q: Hi I am an Indian citizen residing in UK. I will be applying for my UK citizenship in few months. And by profession i am a Doctor and i have graduated from a foreign University. Now to get Medical council of India Reg as a Doctor i need to do 1 yr Internship. But Because of my UK citizenship is still due,i am waiting to get my British Passport and then leave to India to do Internship. As i want to do Internship ASAP after i get my British Passport,i would like to Know the process. I know that the first step is to surrender my Indian passport and then apply for OCI card. But i don’t want to wait for 3 months,so can you please tell me what are my options once i surrender my passport to go to India and do my Training. Thank you Regards, Kumar A. When you get your British passport and Indian visa, you can go to India and apply for OCI in India.
