179. Moving household goods to India
Q: Sir, I have been trying to ascertain costs for moving household good to India. Some people say, take 1/2 a container and ship everything you
can fit into 1/2 a container.
Any thoughts on this?
Geeta
A. Whether you need a container or not will depend on the amount of stuff you actually want to ship to India. You don't mention
where you are located but to give you a rough idea of costs, a 20 foot container from New York to Mumbai would cost
approximately $2300 if you are shipping household goods.
You could share the container and considerably reduce cost.
