353. Passport validity when visiting India

Q: Mr.V.K.Chand, My son's American passport will expire on May 12th 2012. We are visiting India from Jan15th 2012 to March 20th 2012. Is there any minimum time limit requirement for the expiration date of his passport? Thanks, Chinu Shah A. My understanding is, that Passport validity question arises when a person applies for a visa to visit India. There is a requirement that the passport of those who apply for an Indian visa, must have a minimum validity of six months from the date of application. In case a person already has a visa, and their passport is valid until their return from India, there should not be a problem.
