Dear sir I am Indian having valid Kuwait International Driving license is it possible for me to drive in India with this License. Appreciate your response Rose William Sent from my IPhone Answer: International driving license is generally for people such as tourists who visit India for a short duration of time. It is not for those who reside in India. When visiting India for a short duration say for tourism or business purposes, foreigners (including of course those from Kuwait) can drive in India if they have both: 1. A valid Kuwait driving license AND 2. An international driving license [Usually referred to as International Driving Permit or IDP] International driving Permits are valid for a period of one year from the date of issue. IDP is fairly easy to get and is normally issued by Auto clubs in various countries. The issue of an IDP does not involve a driving test, as IDP is issued on the basis of the applicant having a regular driving license. I believe in Kuwait, international driving permit (IDP)is issued by Kuwait International Automobile Club (KT Club).
