From V.R.R.Sarma You have clarified on this matter many times. There is one more point on which I seek your clarification. Is an OCI card necessary for repatriating my Pension from India to U.S ? And for opening NRE account? Thanks. We really appreciate your FAQ column which has helped us immensely. Answer: Regarding your questions: 1. OCI is not required for repatriation of Indian pension to USA or any other country where a Indian pensioner may decide to reside. 2. Any Non-resident can open NRO or NRE account, OCI is not required.
