Q.925 Apply for Indian nativity certificate from South Africa

Hi I'm from South Africa. I am applied for oci in Durban Consulate. My grandfather is from Surat, Kathor. And so is my grand mother. My grandfather died in 1964 in South Africa. I can't find any document of his except death certificate from archives. It says where he is from. I also got someone I know from Surat, to provide me with land document of my grandfather that is still on his name and they had a notary stamp it. The consulate still wants more proof that he is from India. So I read about this nativity certificate. Is there anyway I can apply from South Africa. I can send documents to contact in Surat also. Help. Thank you Daksha Soorajdin Answer: Yes! you should be able to send documentation to your contact in India to represent you to complete all the legal formalities to obtain Nativity Certificate.
