Aakash Shah Answer: You have emailed me a few times and I am going to attempt to answer your questions even though I am somewhat confused by your email. You state in your email that you are from Nepal but you have not got Nepali citizenship? so what countries citizenship do you currently hold? Here is some information with the assumption that you are perhaps a citizen of Nepal. Under Article 7 of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the government of India and the government of Nepal signed in Kathmandu on July 31, 1950: Nepalese citizens can enter India from Nepal without visa. This gives them free access across the India/Nepal border. They must however have valid identification. o A citizen of Nepal must be in possession of a Passport when entering India from a place other than Nepal. o A citizen of Nepal must have a Passport and Visa for India if he/she is entering India from China. Nepalese citizens can own property in India They can conduct trade, open a business enjoying the same privileges as residents To see a copy of the India Nepal treaty click HERE Regarding your questions: How can I prove that I have lived India for seven year and then get married o Keep track of all your residences by keeping documentation of such as rental receipts, rental agreements, driving license, bank account statements etc. One of the best form of proof of address as well as identity these days in India is Aadhaar Card. Even though you are a citizen of Nepal you can get an Aadhaar card if you reside in India. Can I buy property or flat without Indian citizenship? o Yes! Nepalese citizens can buy property in India, however they need prior approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Only persons of Indian origin can buy property in India without RBI approval.
