Q.1093 NRI pan card information . . .
Question: Dear Mr. Chand,
I am Indian born US citizen. I own pan card in India. Recently i heard I do need to get international pan card/ NRI pan card.
What us the difference on these two. Pl advice.
Answer: NRI PAN card or a Domestic PAN card are the same. The only difference is the application for PAN form used by a
resident and non-resident to apply for a new PAN.
A person can have only one PAN card, having multiple PAN cards is illegal. The PAN you currently hold should be fine, all
you need to do is get the PAN records updated. PAN corrections can be done online by visiting
https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html and selecting the ‘PAN Correction’ option.
Just follow the prompts which are displayed to fill and submit the online form.
