Q: I retired from central govt job and receiving full pension (basic+DA). I took UK citizenship and have got OCI status also. I was told that I may continue to get basic pension without DA component. Is it true? Virendra Pandey A. What you have heard is correct. Basic pension is an earned right and normally payable regardless of the country a person chooses to live in. On the other hand, DA is not allowed while the pensioner stays abroad .
