498. US Citizenship law for new born babies . . .

Questions: Hello Mr. Chand, First of all Happy New Year to you and your family! This was regarding an article I came across on a forum. http:// nriinformation .com/nri_questions5/faqpage133.htm Presently I am based at Marysville, Ohio, USA. Me (L1B visa) and my wife (L2) are planning to have our child born here. I know that the US laws would be same for everyone residing in the US, but I just wanted to confirm if the statements you have mentioned in the article are true for us too as we are situated at OH, USA. Any feedback with reference would be highly appreciated. Thank you, Regards, Pradeep Chauhan Answer: If your question concerns whether your L1B status and your wifes L2 status would make any difference in your new born child becoming a US citizen, please note that By virtue of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, all persons born in the United States are citizens of the United States. If you have any specific questions regarding question number 453, titled ‘Indian citizen giving birth in USA - Pros and Cons of US citizenship for newborn’ I would be glad to answer it.
