Q.1242 No obligation to sell Indian property after taking foreign
citizenship
Question: Hi there,
Pls advise.
I bought property in India in 1998. Moved to Singapore in 2000. Now Singapore permanent.
do i need to sell my property in india to accept singapore citizenship?
Iam planning to apply for that.

Answer: There is no compulsory requirement to sell off property legally held in India after become a non-resident of
India or becoming a foreign citizen.
