Question: Good morning can you please advise:- 1. process of changing passport no. On current Oci card 2. How soon can I get amended Oci card 3. Where do I lodge it 4. I am renewing my Australian passport now. I am flying to india in lst wk of Dec. will I get it back from you by then. With Best wishes and kind regards, Answer: Transfer of OCI Visa to New Passport is not required as of January 29, 2015. The Government of India has issued instructions to immigration authorities in India not to insist on production of the foreign passport containing the 'U' Visa Sticker in the case of OCI Cardholders when they enter/exit India and to grant immigration clearance based on production of just the OCI card [OCI Booklet] accompanied by a valid passport (which may not have the U visa sticker). For more information and to view government notice on this topic check ociregistration.com/renew_oci.htm

Current OCI holders in some cases do need to apply for new OCI documents, see below:

1. OCI holders who are 20 years or younger must get new oci documents issued each time they get a new passport. 2. OCI holders who are 50 years of age or older must get OCI documents reissued once when they renew their passports after turning 50 years of age. 3. OCI holders who were already 50 years or more when they first got their OCI; then there is no need for re-issuance of OCI
