Q.1281 Can spouse of Bangladesh origin get PIO card if husband
already has OCI?
Question: I am a Canadian citizen holding Indian OCI.....can my spouse also a Canadian citizen BUT of Bangladesh origin
Get a PIO ...

Answer: No one can get a PIO Card now as the Government of India cancelled the PIO Card scheme on January 9, 2015.

Previous PIO card holders were given the option to switch to an OCI card. However, as per current guidelines, individuals
who are or have been a citizen of Pakistan, Bangladesh or such other country as the Central Government may, by
notification in the Official Gazette, specify, shall NOT be eligible for registration as Overseas Citizen of India card holder
