Q.830 Not mandatory to transfer OCI visa to new passport . . .

Good morning,
Thank you very much for your kind reply. I have read the Q no - 827. I have old passport with arrived stamp , new
passport & OCI booklet. Now my current age is 49. One more clarification also . OCI sticker is mandatory to transfer
the new passport or travelling time shall i take the old passport ( OCI Sticker applied ) & new passport ( without
transfer). please advice me sir.

Answer: Transfer of OCI Sticker to new passport is not mandatory now. OCI holders can use their OCI booklet as
proof of OCI to enter/exit India.
When you leave India, take your OCI booklet, New passport and old passport that you used to enter India as this will
have your entry stamp, when you arrived in India.
Since you are 49 years old now, you can wait until your current passport expires, and then apply for a fresh OCI
registration certificate. As per rules those who are 50 years of age or older, OCI registration certificate must be re-
issued once after the issuance of a new passport.
